Meet Danielle

Hello! My name is Danielle. Thank you for taking the time to consider my profile. Becoming a parent is something I’ve always dreamed about and I’m very excited to make that dream a reality through adoption. Within my family are several adopted children that are thriving and adjusting well. I want to be a part of this tradition and will make a great parent.

My established career enables me to be able to support myself and a family. My current firm allows me to work from home and I would be able to spend quality time raising a child. I have an amazing family and core group of friends that I am truly grateful for and know are supporting me wholeheartedly in this process and beyond. I’m not sure who is more excited for this journey! Almost all of my family and friends have made an Aunt out of me. They can hardly wait until I return the favor, so my support system is deep and strong. Although I have traveled all over, I still live in the area I was born and raised in, as does my immediate family. I’m also a huge dog lover! I have two, ages 14 and 4 who are great with my niece, nephew and friends’ children.

My journey to this point has been a long and bumpy one at times, but I cannot possibly presume to understand the emotional agony and heartache that you endure coming to the decision to create an adoption plan. All I can say is that although we have never met, I know you are a courageous person who possesses the strength to make such a tremendous sacrifice to ensure the well-being of your child. And I truly wish you the best on your journey.

About Danielle

Job
Manager for an accounting firm

Hobbies
Running, kayaking, paddle boarding, cooking, photography, and I am a dog lover!

Fun Fact
Let’s get outside! ! I run local races and have completed the NJ Half Marathon multiple times. I love to kayak, paddle board, jet-ski & fishing. I was raised by the beach, and my Dad taught me to fish & crab as a child. If I haven’t mentioned - I love dogs and have been known to foster dogs that are in danger of being euthanized. I take cooking and photography classes on occasion and torture family regularly with my cooking.

My Life

I’m a proud Aunt of two and Godmother to four! My nephew will be four in October and my niece is two. We regularly have outings and sleepovers. . They are the best lunch dates I could ever ask for. If a dog could be loved to death, my oldest dog is in trouble with those two! My house is located near a number of parks and many bike paths, and it’s become a regular part of my life to explore them. It’s so relaxing and great exercise. I can’t tell you how many miles I have logged in these trails over the years with the dogs. Traveling, both domestically and internationally is a great passion as well. This year alone I traveled to Chicago, Dominican Republic, Georgia, and Switzerland. I look forward to sharing these experiences with my child.

My Family

I am the oldest of two and I’m lucky to be very close with my family. My brother and I were raised in New Jersey and we both still live there, where my brother is raising his own family. My mother and brother live about 10 miles from me and my father lives in the same town I do. We have family dinners regularly. It’s a nice tradition and one of my favorite things to do together. I couldn’t ask for a more supportive group. They are rooting for me, they have been a part of the process as best they can, and they can’t wait to welcome the next member of the family.

Meet Erin

Hello.

It’s hard to understand how you may be feeling right now and I hope you have the support you need to make the right plan for your baby. I’m not able to have children of my own and I am single, but what you really need to know is that I’m known for my smile and I am not afraid to dream big – it means the world to me to become a mom through adoption.

As a mom I want to be hands-on, encourage questions and cultivate this child’s individuality and character with love and laughter. Meet Heather

I am a 47-year-old widow who has run her own Acupuncture practice since 2003 in New York City.

I have been in healthcare my whole adult life, working in hospitals and research before moving onto graduate school for Acupuncture. I love helping people and love knowing how the body works in a holistic way. I have constructed my life around this passion and it has been very rewarding.

In 2010, my husband died in an accident, and since then I have rebuilt my life, creating a healing, fun environment for my pup Muffin and the rest of my extended family and friends. Before he passed away, we had tried to conceive. My first pregnancy ended in miscarriage, which is when we discovered my first fibroid. We continued to try, eventually going to a fertility clinic, but with no success. After his death, I tried again on my own with fertility treatments and became pregnant. That too ended in miscarriage, with again more fibroids. After coming to grips with that loss, I realized that adoption was the best way to move forward with building a family. I have always wanted to be a mother and have organized and created room in my life for a child.

About Heather

Job Description
Acupuncturist and Herbalist

Hobbies
Hiking and swimming

Fun Fact
I have traveled to 15 countries

My Life

I am from Port Washington, NY (Long Island) and moved to the city in my late twenties. I worked, went to graduate school and fell in love with a Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood boy. His family is still local in the neighborhood - they are very popular and are great support to me still.

With my brothers in the city, my sister and nieces just in Connecticut and my parents in Port Washington, my family is close too. I have many friends and clients here, as I have been in NYC for twenty years working, living and loving it. While I do love the city for all it has to offer, I also love to leave and have a country home in a lake community just an hour outside the city in the Hudson Valley. Great for having friends and family up to BBQ, hike, fish and swim, which I do often.

My Family

I grew up in a Roman Catholic family. We celebrate Christmas and Easter with our extended family and friends. I also join my friends who are Jewish for their traditional holiday celebrations as well the celebrations of my friends who are Chinese.

In Conclusion

I am very lucky to have a happy, fulfilling life and hope you choose me and make my life even more blessed. Thank you again for taking the time to know me.

Meet Jacqui

My name is Jacqui, although I couldn't possibly know how you are feeling, maybe I can relate to your experience some.  When I was 18, I made an adoption plan for my son and myself.  I wanted him to have what he needed to thrive and be happy, so I made the most difficult decision of my life.  I know there are many very deep, personal feelings associated with making an adoption plan.

When I gave birth to my son, most adoptions were closed, so I didn’t have contact with him growing up. When he became an adult we reunited.  Getting to know him over the past 7 years has been wonderful.  I’m so proud and happy to know the wonderful, successful adult that he's become. I couldn’t have given him the opportunities that he received from his adoptive family at that time in my life.

Over the past 7 years, I've realized the adoption plan was the right decision for both of us even though it was difficult.  Recently I asked him how he would feel if I adopted a baby, he was fully supportive and said, “I think you have so much to offer a child.”

I'm now at a very different place in my life.  I'm ready and able to have a family and I hope that seeing my profile will show you who I am, the love, warmth, and laughter I have to give and the supportive community of friends and family I belong with who will help me to raise your child through all the successes and challenges of life.

Thank you again for taking the time to look over my profile.  I hope it is the beginning of our story together.

All the best to you,
Jacqui

About Jacqui

Job Description
Music and Science Teacher

Hobbies
Hiking, biking, sewing, reading, cooking, playing piano, spending time with friends, going out to movies or dinner

Fun Fact
I’m really enjoying making new recipes for dinner. Recently, I learned to make fried capers to go with white fish and a cucumber dill salad. The fried capers are crunchy, salty, and really delicious.

My Life

I live in a very diverse community where I’m a few doors away from neighbors who have recently adopted their son, Lucas, who just celebrated his 2nd birthday.  We’ve already had conversations about play dates, teething, and the best pre-schools in the area.

I can't wait to take the baby out on walks in the neighborhood.  I live in Manhattan right in between two parks that are beautiful in the summer to go biking or walking, or in the winter to go sledding after it snows.  After our last snow storm, the hills were filled with all the children and families in the neighborhood sledding.

I have a wonderful support network of family, boyfriend, close friends, neighbors, and my church community. There is also a strong parent support network in my area where I can swap information about caregivers, set up playdates to make sure that your baby is cared for at all times.

I’m a music teacher in a public school that is not more than a mile from where I live.  Every day, I go to work and teach students about music, how to play musical instruments and sing.  We put on a musical theatre production each year. Just as I enjoy my job, I also enjoy summer vacations and the 2 months that I have to travel and enjoy life.  In addition to being a band leader and teacher, I’m a pianist.  Music has made my life so expressive and provided me with many opportunities.  I look forward to teaching and sharing my musical fortunes with my son/daughter.

My Family

Alberto is my long-time friend and boyfriend.  He has a 3 year old son that he sees a few weekends a month.  We look forward to having play time with my son/daughter and his son, Xander.

I have a wonderful group of friends.  We hike, bike, explore the city, go to movies, and/or eat.  It's a pretty active, lively group.  If asked, they would probably say that I’m funny, energetic, and kinda goofy.  I love to laugh and do often.  They may also say that I’m a caring friend who likes to listen and help when needed.  Most of my friends, as I’ve told them about adopting have shown so much support.  They are excited to have a new, smaller addition to our circle.

In Conclusion

As a musician and a music teacher, I look forward to teaching your child all about how to express him/herself through music.  It's been an important part of my life.  Please know that with me your baby will be well cared for, loved, nurtured, and guided in every stage of their life.

My family and our lives often get hectic but we have always taken the time to sit down for dinner together and catch up a few times a week. I am routine-driven with my daily life consisting of my full time job and family time. Consistency and understanding during difficult times are especially important in the stability of my family and child. A typical day would be breakfast together, daycare/school, dinner and then homework.

My Family

Cousin Jenny - the artistic/creative member of the family.

My mother, Maude, and her two sisters (Olga and Nicole) - they are known as the "Three Musketeers," they will also be grandmother figures to the baby.

Meet Kate

Hello and welcome!

I’m Kate, and I’m so happy to be here and I thank you for being here, too. I am so very excited to welcome a child into my home, my community, and my life. I have a remarkable circle of family and friends and love, and I am eager to share it with a new child.

I have always wanted to be a mom. I grew up in a loving, stable home, in a family that valued kindness, humor, independence, curiosity, and equality. These are the things that guide my life, and I look forward to passing them along.

I live in a big, book-lined apartment in a family-friendly, diverse neighborhood in Queens. I have friends all around the world and I love to travel. I love being with kids: playing with them, helping them to do things, listening to them, talking with them, and learning with them.

As I’ve come to learn some of the remarkable stories of adoption, I am humbled by what an awesome undertaking adoption is on everyone’s part, yours most of all. There are so many ways to build families and communities, and I’m so looking forward to building a family this way and to providing a warm and wonderful home for a child.

About Kate

Job Description
I’m the Director of a Library at a
small college that serves non-traditional learners and is focused community empowerment and social good.

Hobbies
I like to draw, cook with friends, and take long walks around the city and in the woods. I love to read and watch movies. I love listening to music. I’d like to learn the banjo. Mostly, I just love being with friends.

Fun Fact
I’m a third-generation New Yorker! And I love to travel: I’ve been to China, Japan, South Africa, Istanbul and Russia, and all around the United States and other places, too!

My Life

I own a spacious apartment in a vibrant, incredibly diverse neighborhood, filled with young families. My life is made up of communities of warm-spirited, big-hearted, talented friends, most of whom have young kids themselves; I love to have them over for mellow potluck dinners or just to hang out. My home is a welcoming space for everyone that I love and care for.

My Family

My parents, Judy and Charlie, are so excited to become grandparents, and they will be very involved in my child’s everyday life.

This child will grow up in a relaxed environment and in a family and community of kind, generous adults, including many friends — all of whom love kids — and who will share their passions and talents. Many I’ve known since childhood: Kiera and Nikhil (both are writers) and their son, Sid; Judd and Michi (amazing musicians) and their daughter, Aki, live on a giant farm in the Berkshires; Courtney makes pottery and lives in Montana; Parker has a community garden on her New York City roof and a second home in Colombia! Karen is a college professor and her 8-year-old, Magnus, and I love to hang out and watch movies together and we all enjoy car-camping trips. Magnus knows that my house will always be a second home for him. I also have many great friends in my neighborhood who are available to babysit and just hang out!

In Conclusion

Thank you so much for looking at my profile. I wish you peace, serenity, love, and kindness, wherever life may take you.

Narragansett, Rhode Island

Meet Kelly

Thank you for getting to know me, and my dog Parker! Our little household is so ready to grow, with your help. I want you to know how excited I am at the prospect of being a mother. I’ve been looking forward to this my whole life. My family and friends are equally excited and my parents are already thinking of how to move their lives closer to me in Brooklyn so they can be a daily part of the baby’s life. As first time grandparents, they are beside themselves with anticipation. Unconditional love is already in our hearts for this baby. And the laughter, curiosity, affection and nurturing that I intend for our family is lying in wait. I will be grateful to you forever for making this possible for me.

About Kelly

Job Description
Running high schools for off-track youth

Hobbies
Hiking, travel, design (especially in my own apartment!), gardening, theater, natural history, and surfing.

Fun Fact
I have been a vegetarian for 28 years, but it’s never stopped me from finding amazing meals all over the world!

My Life

Parker and I like to get outside. We get away on the weekends to hike in the woods or visit friends and family. My parents live 100 feet from the beach in New Jersey, and visiting their home has a big family feel with lots of familiar faces from multiple generations on the weekends. During the week, spending quiet evenings at home and taking advantage of the neighborhood are a priority. Being near a park and lot of playgrounds will offer so many chances to be outside. Tennis, youth sports, and safe places to ride bikes are all easily available. I can't wait to help my child learn to take advantage of what New York City has to offer. Every day includes walking Parker and watching him play with his dog friends in the park - which will become a family event!

Though I live and work in Brooklyn, I see the whole world as my community. I’ve traveled to over 30 countries and all over the U.S., always with an interest in eating great local food and experiencing nature and wildlife. My work means a lot to me. I believe everyone deserves the opportunity to achieve the life they want, so my entire career has been dedicated to helping vulnerable youth gain access to school communities that help them grow and succeed. Doing work that supports my neighborhood and my city means a lot to me. Working everyday with caring people who share my values is priceless.

Mom's 70th Birthday weekend in Rhode Island - 3 generations

My goddaughter's first camping trip!

My Family

My brother and my parents have been supportive of every step of my journey to parenthood, which has been a blessing. Because it is just the four of us, I’m fortunate that my ‘family’ reaches beyond blood relationships. Most of my 'cousins' are old family friends I've known my whole life. Boston, Cape Cod, New London, Philadelphia, Baltimore and Washington, DC. Detroit, San Francisco, Denver and Seattle. They are everywhere, and I see them when I can.

I can't wait to share these places and loved ones with my child. A close friend has 3 young boys and I spend time with them all 6-7 times per year including vacation. Another longtime friend and his boyfriend are ecstatic about being ‘uncles’! I hope my child will continue the tradition of 'family' meaning the people he or she grows up with so that we all remain connected. You will be part of this family too, certainly in the child’s understanding of who they are and where they come from, but also present in our lives, if and when you are ready.

In Conclusion

Having a family is my greatest wish, and I am already overwhelmed with gratitude that your courage is going to fulfill my lifelong aspiration. I'm ready when you are.

Meet April & Reed

Thank you for this opportunity to introduce ourselves! Our names are April and Reed and we live in Westchester County, NY with our two gentle and lovable cats.  We came to adoption because April’s parents adopted her at birth.  Her experience as an adoptee has been a highly joyful one, and she has lived with and learned from the emotions – and, from time to time, the struggles – of being adopted.

We have lived together for over four years and have been married for more than a year. April is a mental health therapist and loves working with her child clients.  Reed spent many summers in college and more recently as a camp counselor, including summers leading teenagers on multi-day hiking, biking, and canoeing trips.

Our Lives

First and foremost, we are two people who are best friends and support each other in everything we do. We make each other laugh and always ask how the other’s day was. We spend as much time together as possible and enjoy being active through hiking, kayaking, and playing tennis. We are lucky enough to have access to all these things near our home. The highlight of our summers is traveling to Reed’s family’s lake house in New Hampshire, usually for multiple long weekends full of grilling out, games, playing with our niece and nephew in the lake and being together as a family.

Our Family

We make time to see our families often. Reed is very close with his brother and they more or less have a secret language all their own. Our niece and nephew are sweet, funny kids that we are lucky to watch grow up. Reed’s mother is very active in her grandchildren’s lives, from playing peek-a-boo to cheering them on as they learn to walk. Reed’s father is always excited for a family hike in the woods or to grill out. April’s parents live in Orlando, FL and are eager to take their future first grandchild to Disney and play with them at the beach.

In Conclusion

We wish you strength, peace, and happiness, on your adoption journey as you multiply the love in your child’s life.

Meet Benita & Elyssa

Hi! We are Benita and Elyssa, a loving and creative couple living in Brooklyn, NY. We met and fell for each other so hard that for a minute Benita forgot where her apartment building was and we drove around the neighborhood in circles! Fast forward five years, and we are married and sharing a happy life along with our two cats,
Tucker and Moo.

We are both social workers who adore children. Between the two of us we have worked with children and families for a total of 32 years! In our free time, we love seeing friends, cooking (and eating) delicious meals and making each other laugh.

When it comes to starting a family, adoption feels like the clear path for us, as we know that the definition of family is very simply the people you love, and the people who love you back.

Our cats, Moo and Tucker

I have a magic wand that I bought to use with the kids I see at work. Turned out the grown-ups like it too! I think it can never hurt to make a wish, (or two.)

About Elyssa

Job Description
Social Worker, Program Director for counseling and after-school programs for teens.

Hobbies
Cooking and creating recipes, gardening on the fire escape, building furniture, watching action movies and football, sketching in pencil and pen, playing board games with friends, reading, spending time with family.

Fun Fact
I once had a job as a professional sandwich-maker at Au Bon Pain, and worked my way up to making 6 sandwiches at once! To this day, I pride myself on my delicious sandwich creations.

Our Lives

We look forward to having a child at the center of our lives who we will cuddle and kiss and support for a lifetime in becoming the person that they are meant to be. We feel lucky to have the best of both worlds: we live in a diverse neighborhood, in a house with a backyard but are also walking distance to stores, playgrounds and city life. Benita was a preschool teacher and the child will hear lots of singing and will dance around the living room to music, play make- believe and make art projects with glitter, glue, and paint. When they are little, there will be bedtime stories every night, some of them made up with themselves as the main character. With Elyssa, the child will measure flour and sugar for cookies and will lick the spoon! They will play catch and run races in our backyard and look for fireflies on summer evenings.

Our Family

Our family and friends are all excited and ready to embrace the newest member of our family. We are very close with Benita’s parents, who live in Manhattan. They love parks, museums, and shows and will provide exciting family adventures. Elyssa’s parents, with spouses, will be frequent grandparent visitors. A total of 6 grandparents in all! There’s Elyssa’s stepbrother, and generations of cousins as well. We have close friends we consider family, to become “aunties” and “uncles.” They will show love, support and loyalty to our child. We both grew up with family and friends who always asked lots of questions, offering wisdom and ideas. Our child will always have a listening adult for their ideas and stories.

In Conclusion

We would like to meet you and hear more about what you are looking for from us. We are sending good wishes, caring and compassion your way during this time of such difficult decisions. We hope that you will find the path that feels right for you and your child. If you think we could be part of your adoption plan we would be honored. We would work hard every single day to put your mind at ease knowing that this child is deeply loved and cared for.

Meet Carl & Andrea

Hi, we're Carl and Andrea. We met on Valentine's Day in 2009 (easy to remember!). By our third date we knew there was no going back. Being a closet romantic, Carl proposed in Paris in January 2011 and we were married that July. Even though we were told we would likely not get pregnant, we welcomed our son Wyatt into the family in August 2012 (all 10.5 lbs. of him). And life has been an amazing roller coaster ever since! They say opposites attract, and you can truly see that with us, but that just means there is so much more we can show our child(ren). We easily do agree on the important things: values, education, work/life balance —and we embrace that parenting and being a family is always a beautiful work in progress. We now want to grow our family through adoption, like we always thought we would.

Our Lives

Our lives are a welcomed adventure. We work, we play, we make time for family, we make time for ourselves. Sunday’s at the farmer’s market, summer days in the pool, trips to explore the East Coast, taking the pup to the dog park. We love the ebb and flow between fun packed days and cozy ones with no plan, where we don’t even leave the house. Time with our family and our fantastic circle of friends (who are family too!) make for the best days.

Our Family

Wyatt rounds out our family of three. He is a fearless explorer and creative thinker. He is excited to be a big brother, always getting ready for “my baby”. We often talk with him about adoption. Our house “family” also includes Huck the dog, Raphael the fish, and the 6 chickens (all named by Wyatt). Carl’s family lives nearby and Andrea’s family is still New England-based. Holidays are spent with family and friends; Andrea now makes two turkeys for Thanksgiving! Both of us have had lifelong friends and ones made along the way, and they all enrich our lives.

In Conclusion

We are honored to welcome a new child into our family through the gift of adoption. We are coming into this with open arms and open minds, just like raising our own son, to see what beautiful things it can teach us.

Meet Chris & Robin

We first met in high school.  Chris tutored Robin in calculus and we connected over our love of music. Robin still has the first mixed tape that Chris made for her.  We rekindled our relationship six years ago and were married in 2014 in an intimate family ceremony.  We live in Brooklyn next to Prospect Park.  We love spending time with each other and our families. We enjoy running outside, traveling, watching/playing sports, reading, and just relaxing on the couch.  We have “Family Fun Night” every Friday with Robin’s sister, her husband, and their two little girls who live two blocks away. We host or visit our families outside of New York every other month.  Our families are very excited to welcome a new child into our lives!

Our Lives

Chris is an avid soccer fan - both watching and playing – and he has a vast music collection.  Robin has recently taken up sewing and woodworking.  Together, we love to be outside and explore wherever we happen to be.  Chris and Robin both love to read.  We’re looking forward to reading our favorite children’s books with our child. We also look forward to coaching our child in youth sports, taking family vacations, and exploring new places together.  We are so excited to share and expand our lives with a child.

Our Family

We are very close to our parents, our 5 siblings, and our 12 nieces and nephews.  While our immediate family is spread out (Brooklyn, Detroit, DC, Atlanta, and Mexico City), we make regular trips to visit and keep in constant touch over Facetime and text.  Our 12 nieces and nephews range from 2 to 20 years old (8 are under the age of 7).  We can’t wait to introduce our child to our family.  They are all very excited to be a part of our journey and support us in every way they can.

In Conclusion

We hope that you enjoyed getting to know a little about us and our family.  We would love to meet you and would be honored if you joined our extended family by choosing us to be the family for your child.

Meet David & Josh

Hello! We’re Josh and David, a loving and adventurous couple living in Astoria, NYC.

Before landing in one of the world’s most diverse neighborhoods, we grew up as suburban boys in tight-knit, creative families in New Jersey and upstate New York. Our mothers are educators who taught us to keep our hearts and minds open by always learning about the world around us. That love of learning drew us together at a friend’s dinner party nearly 10 years ago, where we laughed and debated politics (and nibbled on chocolate babka) until the sun came up.

Soon after, we found ourselves holding hands on a park bench and daydreaming about having a family together. Josh pictured David teaching our child yoga poses and Yiddish jokes. David imagined Josh singing sweet a cappella lullabies and taking our child to see the latest Star Wars movie.

We still see all of the ways the other would make a great dad, so above all, we’d like you to know that our hearts are wide open to welcoming a little one. We cannot wait to show him or her the kindness, compassion, and love of learning that are the common threads in our families and friendships. We are grateful to have the opportunity to meet you and to share our excitement about building our family through adoption.

About David

Job Description
Leads a Digital Marketing Team

Hobbies
Running, cooking, yoga, travel & reading

Fun Fact
David can converse in several languages, from Spanish to Hungarian, and has a bizarre knack for picking up a language after spending only a few hours in a new country

About Josh

Job Description
Lawyer

Hobbies
Singing, going to the theater, reading, being David’s personal travel agent, exploring NYC

Fun Fact
Thanks to a family that loved to take road trips growing up, Josh has visited 48 U.S. states and only two to go!

Our Lives

We fill our lives with adventures big and small, trying to learn from each experience so that we can better connect with the world around us.

On many weekends, you’ll find us visiting friends and exploring NYC neighborhoods, searching out new art exhibits or street festivals. We especially love to travel and learn about foreign food cultures and are always excited to return home and cook our versions of exotic dishes for friends. Thanks to Josh’s knack for finding frequent flyer deals, we’ve had the chance to explore 35 countries - and counting!

We also learn through the personal journeys we’ve taken. During college, Josh read up on nutrition and lost more than 100 pounds, keeping them off ever since. Recently, David completed a yoga teacher course, exploring the physical practice and connecting with its focus on mindfulness. He’s also an avid runner whose feet have carried him through more than 850 miles of NY streets this year.

But no matter how busy we are, we always make time to hear about each other’s day, just as our families did growing up. We also stay close to our friends through emails, calls, coffees, and reunions, continuing to grow from those relationships.

While we’ve learned so much from our family, friends, and each other, we cannot imagine how much fun it will be to learn with - and from - the child we’re lucky enough to welcome into our family.

Our Family

We love bringing our families together to celebrate special occasions, holidays, or just to hang out on weekends. It’s pretty easy because they live close by - no further than Albany! When we get together, you’ll see us cooking, playing (lovingly) competitive games of Scrabble, trying to think of the cleverest puns, and above all, laughing.

Both of our families look forward to welcoming our child with boundless love. For Josh’s family - his parents, sister, aunt, and uncle - it will be the first baby of the next generation. David’s mom is excited for us to bring a second grandchild into her family. Her first grandchild, our niece-to-be, is due soon, we cannot wait to spoil her!

We also have an extended family filled with friends from different points in our lives - from Josh’s college singing group to David’s yoga class buddies. We’re excited to introduce our child to these loving friends and the many playmates among the growing group.

In Conclusion

Thank you so much for inviting us to share in your adoption journey. If you choose us to parent your child, we will work together every day to ensure that he or she feels loved, cared for, protected, and challenged to become his or best self. We will kiss every bruise, laugh often, play, celebrate, embrace learning, and help him or her cope with life’s many ups and downs. Most importantly, if you choose us to be your child’s parents, we will honor your decision to bring our families together each and every day.

Meet Erin & Nick

We are Erin and Nick. We’ve been together for over a decade and had an amazing wedding in New Orleans in 2012. We are passionate about art, food, travel, social justice, and our chihuahua mutt Reno. Adopting children has always been a path that we knew we would choose and we are so excited to bring a new baby into our family and community. Erin’s family lives all over New England and we see them regularly, and Nick is from California, so we visit San Francisco often - especially to escape the east coast winter! Ultimately, we love New York more than anywhere and feel so lucky to be able to begin raising a family in our favorite city on earth!

We love to take long walks with our dog, see New York’s soccer team NYCFC at Yankee Stadium, and go to our friends’ cookouts. In the summer, we often take trips up to Maine or Vermont where we visit with family, swim in lakes, play cards, and enjoy the outdoors. In the winter, we spend lots of time in museums, watching movies, playing board games, and flying to warm places!
