Meet Mateo & Samantha, a sweet sibling group that have been living in the care of a group home for the past 2 years.  Mateo & Samantha are described by their caregivers as having a close bond to one another.

Samantha was born in September of 2013 and is described as being a happy and motivated little girl who enjoys playing with toys, teddies, colors, and baby dolls.  Her caregivers have noted that her curiosity and level of language and cognitive development lead her to frequently ask questions about the environment and world around her.  Samantha has been diagnosed with Klippel Feil syndrome, cervical osteomyelitis with cervio-thoracic scoliosis which can make some gross motor activities difficult for her such as jumping on one foot.  Samantha exhibits developmental delays compared to peers her age and receives therapy services to help strengthen her gross motor skills and fine motor skills.  Samantha enjoys playing with other children, cutting paper with scissors, imitating figures and drawings, and is described as maintaining the harmony in any group she is a part of.

Mateo was born in October of 2017 and is a calm and socially adaptable child who gets along well with his caregivers and other children.  When Mateo entered care, his integral development was observed to be on a lower level than expected for his age but has since made great strides in his development through receiving various therapy services.  Mateo has even begun to execute taking steps on his own.  Mateo is a good eater and who is working on strengthening his eating habits as he can be quite selective.  Mateo is a happy boy who enjoys playing with various objects, babbling, smiling and being talked to by his caregivers.

Mateo & Samantha are in need of immediate adoption and a permanent, loving family to call their own.  If you think you could be the forever family for these sweet siblings, contact our Adoption Team at 212-400-8150 or email us at
