We will provide tools on how to set expectations and manage your child’s behavior while creating a safe, nurturing home environment. We’ll discuss what boundaries and rules are appropriate for a newly placed child. We will also highlight discipline techniques that promote healthy attachments. This training will help you understand your future child’s behaviors and what your child is seeking to communicate through their behaviors. Finally, we’ll discuss the differences between discipline and punishment. We will take time to answer your individual questions and this will also create an opportunity to meet other perspective adoptive parents who may serve as a support system to you and your child!
This training is open to families pursuing intercountry adoption. Space is limited.
