Dyadic Development Psychotherapy
A Four-Day Master Class
February 25-28, 2012
8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
Spence-Chapin Services to Families and Children
New York City
This four-day training is geared for therapists in the treatment of
children with trauma-attachment problems. Early deprivation, neglect,
abuse, significant early health problems and hospitalizations, repeated
moves, or more than one year in an orphanage can create attachment
problems that require specialized treatment.
This workshop will provide therapists and other professionals with an
opportunity to learn and practice effective treatment methods for
trauma-attachment disordered children. Participants will learn effective
therapy principals for helping traumatized children. There will be an
opportunity to view videotapes of actual therapy sessions with
traumatized children that demonstrate therapeutic principals.
Participants are encouraged to present their own videotapes or cases.
This master class provides an intermediate level of training in
Dyadic
Developmental Psychotherapy, an evidence-based, effective, and
empirically validated treatment grounded in current thinking and
research on the etiology and treatment of Complex Trauma or
Developmental Trauma Disorder and disorders of attachment. Attendees
will earn a Certificate of Attendance for 34 CEUs.
Led by
Dr.
Arthur Becker-Weidman, a certified Dyadic Developmental
psychotherapist, consultant and trainer, it is the first step in
completing the "required core training content" necessary to enter the
practicum to become a Certified Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy
therapist. For those who wish to complete the certification process,
additional training is necessary to apply for the Practicum to become a
certified DDP therapist, and is available through Dr. Arthur
Becker-Weidman's
Center
for Family Development in Williamsville, N.Y. Hosted by
