Keep Spence-Chapin Strong for Another 100 Years

Early donors to the Campaign for the Second Century, created to coincide with Spence-Chapin’s centennial in 2008, have pushed us over the $10 million mark. Thanks to their generosity, we are growing key programs and beginning to pursue new initiatives such as Ankang, China’s Granny Program; providing international and post-adoption services in our Long Island and New Jersey offices; strengthening our services for women who face unplanned pregnancy; and helping ensure early permanency for children at risk.

Contributions to the Campaign for the Second Century help build our endowments:

• The Second Century Fund underwrites core adoption programs and services
• The Flicka Van Praagh Fund for International Programs funds initiatives in countries where the need is the greatest
• The Fund for Aftercare Services supports social workers who counsel adoptees seeking information about their biological backgrounds and birthparents seeking information about their children
• The Fund for Professional Development supports staff pursuing educational opportunities that advance Spence-Chapin’s expertise

• Extend post-adoption and child development programs
• Grow Granny Program to 8-12 orphanages
