International Waiting ChildrenSPENCE-CHAPIN'S WAITING CHILD PROGRAM has a long-standing commitment to finding homes for children considered hard to place. Waiting Children are identified as ready for placement and the adoption process is often able to move more quickly.Waiting Children can be placed outside of the regular adoption system due to a variety of reasons. These children include those who are: older than the typical age for a program; part of a sibling group; or diagnosed with an identified medical, emotional or developmental condition. Many of these children have also experienced abuse and/or neglect before arriving at the orphanage and are in need of loving families who can help them to reach their greatest potential. Spence-Chapin social workers are skilled at preparing families for the joys as well as challenges that adopting a Waiting Child can bring. Families who have completed home studies and meet all Country and U.S. requirements can receive full referral information after formally applying to Spence-Chapin. If you feel that a Waiting Child could be a good fit for your growing family, please contact us at http://www.spence-chapin.org/z6_info_request_form.php or call our International Adoption Inquiry Line at 212-400-8150. All of our programs have identified Waiting Children, though not all countries are able to provide us with specific listings. The children below are awaiting adoption. If you would like to learn more about them or other children who may be waiting for a family, we look forward to hearing from you.
