Choosing a Network Agency and Registration with Spence-Chapin

If you live outside the NY/NJ metro area you will have a dual process when working with Spence-Chapin. Networking families will need to apply both to Spence-Chapin and choose a local agency to complete their homestudy. Some families come to us having already started their process with a local agency, and others choose Spence-Chapin first and then locate an approved network agency in their area. To obtain a Spence-Chapin Registration Packet, see the “Learn More” box to the left, or request one from one of our Approved Network Agencies. This packet allows us to “meet you” on paper and carefully review your application for eligibility requirements. In some cases we are able to review your situation with our overseas partners to determine your likelihood of success in a particular program. Throughout this stage, it is our goal to set the groundwork for your adoption and protect families who will commit time, finances, and a piece of their heart from entering into a program that may not be successful for them. Once we have identified a program (or programs) that is a good fit, you are ready to begin your homestudy process.
