International AdoptionStep 1Information Meeting & RegistrationLocal families begin their relationship with Spence-Chapin by attending a free in-person or an online information meeting. This meeting presents information about the adoption process and international options. You will also receive a Registration Packet to complete that allows us to “meet you” on paper and carefully review your application for eligibility requirements. In some cases we are able to review your situation with our overseas partners to determine your likelihood of success in a particular program. Throughout this stage, it is our goal to set the groundwork for your adoption and protect families who will commit time, finances, and a piece of their heart from entering into a program that may not be successful for them. Once we have identified a program (or programs) that is a good fit, you are ready to begin your homestudy process. |
