In 1997, Spence-Chapin opened a satellite office in Summit, New Jersey, to make the agency’s option counseling services
readily available to pregnant women residing in New Jersey. Later, the agency expanded its staff in order to offer information
meetings and homestudies for prospective adoptive parents. Spence-Chapin’s New Jersey office has developed strong ties and
referral links with health care and social service providers throughout the state. In addition, Spence-Chapin’s Adoption Resource Center (ARC)
offers post-adoption support to Spence-Chapin birth parents and families; plus seminars and workshops which are open to all
New Jersey adoptive families.

From Northern New Jersey
Via Garden State Parkway South
- To Exit 142- Route 78W. Stay to right side
- Take route 78W to Route 24. There is no exit number but it is after Exit 50
- On route 24 get off at the Summit Avenue Exit
- Turn left at first light
- Take Summit Avenue through a residential area into the town of Summit
- After the 2nd light proceed to Union Place and make a right onto Union Place (at Summit Diner on the right hand corner)
- The office building is 1 1/2 blocks on the right and across the street from the train station
Via N.J.Turnpike South
- To Exit 14 - Route 78 W. Stay to right side
- Take route 78W to Route 24. There is no exit number but it is after Exit 50
- On route 24 get off at the Summit Avenue Exit
- Turn left at first light.
- Take Summit Avenue through a residential area into the town of Summit
- After the 2nd light proceed to Union Place and make a right onto Union Place (at Summit Diner on the right hand corner)
- The office building is 1 1/2 blocks on the right and across the street from the train station
From Southern New Jersey
Via N.J. Turnpike to Garden State Parkway
- Exit 142 –Route 78W
- Take route 78W to Route 24. There is no exit number but it is after Exit 50

From Western New Jersey
Via Route 78E to Route 24W
- There is no Exit # but it is after Exit 45 on the left hand side
- Route 24W to Summit Avenue Exit
- Turn left at first light
- Take Summit Avenue through a residential area into the town of Summit
- After the 2nd light proceed to Union Place and make a right onto Union Place (at Summit Diner on the right hand corner)
- The office building is 1 1/2 blocks on the right and across the street from the train station
Via Route 80
- To Exit 43 Morristown - Route 287S
- Take Route 287 South to Exit 37
- Route 24E to Summit Avenue Exit
- At light turn right onto Summit Avenue
- Take Summit Avenue through a residential area into the town of Summit
- After the 2nd light proceed to Union Place and make a right onto Union Place (at Summit Diner on the right hand corner)
- The office building is 1 1/2 blocks on the right and across the street from the train station
From Manhattan
- Take George Washington Bridge, Lincoln Tunnel or Holland Tunnel to the New Jersey Turnpike to Exit 14 - 78W
- Take route 78W to Route 24. There is no exit number but it is after Exit 50

Parking Information
- Parking in Summit is metered. You can park at 5 hour metered spaces on Railroad Ave, on the other side of the train station (which is across from our office)
